A Letter to Shluchim

Dear Shliach:

As you surely know, one of the most successful approaches to the education of today's youth, is to keep them in an environment of Yiddishkeit and Chassidus, where children can learn to understand, appreciate, and feel what it is like, to live as a Jew.

To this end, Chabad learned to make use of the summer camping season. With the encouragement of the Rebbe, a large network of Gan-Israel camps has been developed throughout the country. For thousands of Jewish children, this is the only time of the year that they are exposed to true Yiddishkeit.

Until recently, however, there have mainly been only day-camping programs available for these children. Although there are overnight camps, their programs are geared toward Frum children, making it hard for someone from a non-religious background to truly appreciate the valuable experience they offer, and to maximize the benefits they could get from such a program.

Camp L'man Achai, has been running an overnight camping program for the past several years. With the help of our highly experienced and truly dedicated staff members hand selected from Lubavitcher Yeshivas the world over, we have seen drastic changes in our campers’ attitude towards Yiddishkeit and Chassidus, and have had remarkable results in enrolling them in Jewish Day Schools, Talmud Torah's and other Jewish-Religious educational programs.

Five years ago, we purchased our own campgrounds in Andes, NY in the pristine Catskill Mountains. With space for over 250 children, our facility boasts many sports fields, as well as a 50-acre lake. We have an exiting program which includes, many exciting field trips as well as many on-site extra curricular activities.

A vital part of our program is our specially designed educational program, tailored to every child's personal needs. Besides the scheduled daily learning classes, an array of different activities are planned, which enhance the children's knowledge, and enrich their Jewish summer experience.

Registration for our summer camp is now in full swing. Our enrollment is open to boys ages 8 - 16, with a special "Teen" program for older boys ages 14-16 with some, or no Yeshiva background.
